i hope you all have been hanging in there. i write this from the shade of my porch on a beautiful 75 degree day here in the desert. spring is absolutely upon us here in moab as we welcome “jeep week” aka Easter Jeep Safari: a nine day off-roading event that attracts thousands of off-roading enthusiasts to our little town. This week always feels like the turning point of off-season into ON-SEASON. It’s like a slap in the face to wake up out of my cozy cocoon of winter look alive. as much as it can be frustrating no longer being able to navigate town as easily, i’m grateful - knowing this influx of tourism will allow a lot of us small businesses here in town be able to continue to make a living. so much has been uncertain lately, but seeing town busy honestly brings me so much hope.
if this past month has been hard on you - i want you to know you are not alone. the uncertainty of everything right now is extremely fatiguing and is taking a toll on us all. I didn’t realize it until last week but i accidentally took about a month break from posting on here or instagram. i hope we are all taking breaks from what is not serving us to better take care of ourselves and our communities that need us.
i haven’t had the bandwidth to read much or look at a screen too long, so i will keep this newsletter as short and sweet as i can.
i came across this quote last month that has stuck with me, and inspired me to make a few river-themed pieces for this month’s shop update. it read:
this feels so poignant right now not only as the streams and creeks are starting to rise with the snowmelt, but also personally and politically. all we can do is keep showing up, day after day, to do whatever work is called upon us.
it’s as simple as showing up. for ourselves. for our loved ones. for the causes that matter to us.
the smallest drops of rain matter to a patch of dry desert soil.
with that, i want to thank you all so much for your support in my work this past quarter. with your help, i was able to make a small donation to Grand Staircase Escalante Partners who’s mission is to: honor the past and safeguard the future of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument through science, conservation, and education. Learn more about the work they do and how you can get involved here:

TONIGHT’S SHOP UPDATE:
I’ve been working hard on your made-to-orders, so this month’s update will be pretty small. I finally was able to completely finish all of your orders from the feb 25th update and have moved on to last month’s update. I have also been working hard to keep Moab Made and Biome Slow Craft Collective (in Bozeman, MT) stocked and am excited to start selling my work at Utah Canyon Outdoors in Escalante, UT! I will be working on their order these next couple weeks and shipping it out by the end of the month.
In honor of starting to sell my work in Escalante, I created a couple new designs featuring Coyote Gulch as well as the Escalante River. These beautiful places are in need of continued protection and I hope to find more ways to continue to help contribute to their safe-guarding.

Like a river flows
Carried by the sunrise
Of its own unfolding.”
