✸ saying goodbye to february ✸
sometimes typing my feelings just doesn’t work. it feels too sterile. i’ve decided to try sharing some of my thoughts through handwriting.
✸ Our public lands are under threat ✸
i have a bachelor’s of science degree in environmental conservation. I worked in that field for about 7 years. However, it is very difficult to find a stable, well-paying job in that field of work. We were always told by our professors and advisors that one of the few avenues to finding stable employment with benefits is through working for the government. for working for the national parks, national forest, bureau of land management, etc. here in moab, those agencies hold some of the few stable jobs in our community. Or at least, they did.
i wont get in to the specifics about the federal budget or how the decision to cut all these jobs is part of a bigger plan to sell off our public lands to the highest bidder for oil, gas and mining operations. there are many other talented and educated writers going more in depth about what is going on with our public lands and how we can help protect them.
i’ve compiled a list of my favorite publications here on substack that discuss public land, conservation, and how we can help protect the places we love:
How this is affecting the small desert town of Moab, UT where I live:
please check out these articles from our local and regional newspapers. We had an entire forest service crew laid off, and many more firings that is going to leave our public lands and the people who visit them vulnerable.
Moab’s Federal Employees Have Been Hit Hard by the Trump-Musk Worker Purge
Federal Directive Could Close Moab’s NPS, USGS Offices
Utah National Parks: How the Trump firings will impact your visit
Moab demonstrators join national movement against federal worker firings
Take action:
Sierra Club - Tell Congress why it is important to stand up for our national parks, monuments, forests, and public lands, and those who are dedicated to protecting these precious places.

Moving on to info and updates surrounding my business Coyote Crafted. Feel free to skip if you’re not interested! Thanks for being here.
✸ next shop update ✸
next week’s update will be small, as I continue to work through your made-to-orders from last month’s update. just a reminder that made-to-order pieces take up to 5 weeks to ship! Thank you for your patience and for supporting slow-crafted jewelry.
preview of what will be available:
i plan to offer a few of last year’s designs back by popular demand. some will be ready-to-ship, some pre-orders.
stay tuned for next week’s newsletter for an early access code to enter the shop an hour before the public (starting at 6pm mst), as well as a more in-depth preview of what will be available.
✸ New stockist ✸
i’m so honored to have my work now featured at ✹ Biome Slow Craft Collective ✹: a woman-owned art workshop, event and retail space in Bozeman, MT featuring slow-crafted goods from local artists of the west.
Follow them on instagram at @biome.slowcraft or check out their website.
It feels so surreal to now have my jewelry sold in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and now Montana! All at women-run boutiques of course!
There is so much trust involved in the relationship between a shop and the artists whose goods they stock.
I am beyond grateful for the incredible women who have taken so much care in creating welcoming spaces to hold so many talented artists’ works on their shelves. To be included among those artists is truly an honor.
This year I have made a commitment to myself to keep Moab Made stocked. In years past I have really struggled with finding a work flow that allows me to keep up with it, but this year I have made it part of my weekly priorities to stop by at least once. Check them out if you are in town, there are truly so many incredible artists represented in there that all live here in this tiny town!
See my page stockists on my website to learn more about where you can find Coyote Crafted goods across the west.

Fireweed Market SLC
i am so honored to be a vendor again this year at the 2nd annual Fireweed Market at HK brewing co in SLC. Last year was so much fun and such an amazing group of fellow artists from the area. There aren’t many markets to apply for in the Moab area, so being welcome to apply for Salt Lake markets like this really allows me to push myself and find my people! I am really looking forward to refreshing my market booth layout - this year i will be selling my jewelry at markets all by itself! No collage postcards or prints from here on out! Deciding to focus in on my jewelry since I do that anyways for my shop updates. I will continue to make collage work and doodles but just share them here through my newsletter.
✸ Thank you so much for reading ✸
I hope you are all hanging in there.
xx
